BARBERING APPRENTICESHIP
Entering into an apprenticeship allows you to complete the qualification while employed as an apprentice barber. You’ll earn an income while you train, and government funding may be available to help support the cost of the course.
COMPLETEING A BARBERING APPRENTICESHIP
The apprenticeship pathway is a great entry point to barbering, and for many can be the most cost-effective and practical way to achieving a qualification. At Barber Temple, our Barbering Apprenticeship is a well-rounded program designed to take you from the basics all the way through to becoming a confident, skilled barber. You'll cover everything you need, from understanding hair structure and mastering clipper and scissor techniques, to building great client relationships and getting to grips with the business side of barbering.

Timing is dependent on your employment type and development.
This can take up to 3 years if employed full-time, or 6 years if employed part-time.

The Training Triangle
At the heart of a successful apprenticeship is a collaborative "training triangle" designed to support the apprentice's growth. The employer provides the workplace, mentorship, and hands-on experience required to learn the trade, while the employee (the apprentice) commits to learning both on the job and through formal study, Barber Temple, as the Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO), acts as the vital link between the two; we deliver the formal qualification, monitor progress, and ensure that the training provided in the shop align with national industry standards. Together, this partnership ensures the apprentice transforms from a dedicated learner.
